We would like to reassure you that if you register for one of our upcoming courses, you will or can opt to receive a full refund if the course/event should have to be postponed or cancelled due to restrictions associated with Covid-19. We will of course continue to closely monitor developments and government advice, as well as adhering to routine social distancing and anti-viral procedures on the courses. As usual, we urge you to not make any non-refundable travel or accommodation arrangements until VetPD has confirmed in writing that the course/event will indeed take place and to have suitable travel insurance in place, should the situation / government advice suddenly change.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Nowadays a great percentage of equine dental extractions are performed non-surgically but should never be taken lightly as complications like dental fractures, retained root tips, collateral damage etc. easily occur.  Over the past 20 years minimally-invasive surgical techniques have been developed and have led to a significant reduction of morbidity and mortality in horses.

This highly practical boutique course (max. 18 attendees) was devised for advanced practitioners with surgical experience and surgeons with a good working knowledge/experience in equine dentistry, specifically with dental extractions.

To participate in the On-Location Portion, attendees are required to have first taken part in the  corresponding online Lecture Series An Introduction to Advanced Surgical Dental Extraction Techniques (incl. MITR, MTE & Segmentation)':

  • If you have not yet purchased the corresponding Lecture Series associated with the On-Location Portion, please purchase the Lecture Series as an ‘Extra’ during the registration process at a 10% discount .
  • If you have already purchased the Lecture Series independently of the On-Location Portion, please proceed to register without adding the Lecture Series as an ‘Extra’ during the registration process.

The panel of internationally renowned specialists will provide an overview on up-to-date, minimally-invasive surgical dental extraction techniques in horses, including minimally-invasive trephination & repulsion (MITR), minimally-invasive transbuccal extraction (MTE) and dental segmentation.  They will furthermore be sharing technical tips and tricks and pearls of wisdom that they have accumulated over the many years of performing equine dental surgery.

“Highly practical with a great theoretic base. Even though I already was quite familiar with the techniques presented, I really learned some new details and got some insights for daily use.”

Nina Lundgren, Svenska Hasttandvarden AB, Sweden - Equine Oral Dental Extraction Techniques course

“Great overview of normal anatomy and pathology, radiograph technique and extraction techniques.”

Scott Morley, United States - Equine Oral Dental Extraction Techniques course

“On the high-end of course but well worth the expense. The title was misleading, this course helped increase my knowledge and scope of veterinary dentistry. I do not believe this was "Basic Dentistry" content, it was better.”

Amanda Flessner, CA - Essentials of Equine Dentistry course
