Should I do a TPLO or an extra-capsular stabilization in a 4 Kg dog? This is an unanswered question that surgeons face when managing stifle problems in small breed dogs. The international multidisciplinary panel of experts will tackle the controversial topic of treatment decision making in CCL disease affecting small breed dogs using best available evidence and expert opinion. An expert in this area will moderate the exchanges between two surgeons and a physiotherapist and challenge them with clinically relevant topics in CCL rupture decision-making , amongst them:

  • Conservative treatment vs. TPLO/TTA vs. extracapsular stabilization
  • Surgical techniques: outcomes and complications, differences between extracaps techniques
  • Role of rehabilitation: conservative management, post-TPLO vs. extracaps rehabilitation, evidence in animals vs. people

*Participants are encouraged to send in questions to info@vetpd.com prior to the panel discussion.  There will also be the opportunity to raise questions during the discussion.
