Part of the Equine Pain Recognition, Assessment & Management Online Lecture Series

CONTENT DESCRIPTION

In this online lecture and discussion, the approach to assessing and managing neuropathic pain will be explored.

Managing neuropathic pain is a significant clinical challenge. This interactive module will explore current knowledge of the pathophysiology and management of neuropathic pain in laminitis and head-shaking. Through interactive case discussions and debates around recent clinical studies, the diagnosis of neuropathic pain, approach to management, and considerations for ongoing monitoring will be explored.

By the end of this module, attendees will recall what cases should be considered to be experiencing neuropathic pain, and how that influences management.
