CONTENT DESCRIPTION
Canine atopic dermatitis (CAD) is a clinical syndrome and not a single disease. It is a multifactorial and complex inflammatory syndrome in which the skin is the main route of exposure. CAD results from an inherited predisposition to develop hypersensitivities to environmental allergens that do not induce a problem in non-allergic individuals. Allergens can include dust mites, pollens, dander, insect particles and molds. Understanding how to implement alternative therapies such as immunotherapy skin/ear care is important in long-term management.
