After graduating from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Free University of Berlin in 2014, Klaas-Ole completed an equine rotating internship at the University of Veterinary Medicine of Vienna. During this time he developed a particular passion for ophthalmology and subsequently prepared his doctoral thesis on ocular contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in dogs and horses. Klaas-Ole commenced the residency programme in comparative veterinary ophthalmology at Vienna’s service and successfully passed his ECVO diploma exams in 2021. He worked for one year as ophthalmology specialist at Tierklinik Rostock and simultaneously took over the ophthalmology department lead at AniCura Tierärztliche Spezialisten Hamburg. Additionally Klaas-Ole works as senior clinician in ophthalmology at Tierklinik Neustädter Bucht. Furthermore he is a member of the IEOC since 2017 and nowadays his major field of activity are consults and surgeries in equine patients at Tierklinik Lüsche im SANAKENA, Pferdeklinik Bargteheide, Pferdeklinik Wahlstedt and occasionally in the field.
